Public History

I love conversations about things I like. To that end I have produced podcasts and educational articles that seek to bring history and cultural heritage preservation to a non-specialized public.

The New Books Network (En/Es)

The New Books Network is a consortium of author-interview podcast channels dedicated to raising the level of public discourse by introducing scholars and scholarly topics to a wide public. As a podcaster, I have produced several episodes for the consortium. Most of them are interviews with authors about their books and research. Other podcasts concentrate on cultural heritage preservation in Venezuelan archives. I interview researchers and staff members about the challenges and opportunities of the historical records housed at these repositories. Check my interviews in Spanish and English.

The Texas Handbook

As a researcher and metadata editor, I have produced several articles for the Texas Handbook of Women. The short biographical entries I have written focuses on women and their important role as workers, owners and executives in the male dominated Texas oil industry. Recently, I have been researching and writing new entries for the Texas Handbook of Dallas-Fort Worth about Civil-Rights Movement activists and sports managers. You can look at my published entries here.
